Since Scotsman James Taylor, attributed to planting the first tea estates spanning 20 acres of rich Sri Lankan soils in 1867 on the ' looleeconder'a estate where he happened to be the superintendent, the ancient gift and art of making tea was introduced to our paradise shores.
Ceylon tea, then soon became famous for the different essences and varieties and quality. The unison of rich soil, happy sunshine, calm winds and cooling rain of our island contributed towards presenting the ideal climate for the cultivation of tea. Ceylon I its flavor exploring new dimensions found that each geographical climate and territory that tea was grown produced its own distinctive flavor thus leading Ceylon tea to become a very special and most sought after brand globally.
